What to do if you have had an automobile loss. The first thing to do is make sure everyone is OK. Seek medical care if necessary. If the police responded, many times they will provide this information to you. You, or the operator, will need to complete a Operators Report. Assuming you have the necessary coverage, we will make the arrangements to have your vehicle seen by an company appraiser. If your car is not drivable, you will probably want to rent a car. If you have rental coverage, your policy will pay for this. If you do not, you will have to make arrangements with the other insurance company to receive reimbursement, assuming the accident is not your fault. It is wise to have rental on your own policy.
